Other necessary elements to achieving your Fitness Goals are:
* Supplements. Vitamins & Minerals are a MUST! When in a
"muscle-gain" period, creatine can be an
effective post-workout supplement. For stiff or sore
joints (especially during "fat-loss" periods),
glucosomine chondroitin is also excellent.
* Water, water, and more water. Up to a gallon a day can be
very helpful. Water aids in waste-removal in your cells.
Water only "counts" as being water when you drink it by
itself.
* Rest. Get good nights' sleep. Always remember that, after
you workout a bodypart, you must rest it for the next few days
because your body is "busy" in "repair and rebuild" mode.
(NOTE: Muscle-size-increase occurs, NOT during the workout, but
during the days at rest afterward, when it is being "repaired
and rebuilt.")
* Periodization. Because your body adapts quickly to any workout
and nutrition plan, you need to establish set time-periods of doing
any particular plan, and then "change it up" to another plan
for the next time-period. This keeps your body always "guessing",
so that it never "settles in" and stops doing what you are trying
to achieve. Good time-periods can be anywhere from 6 weeks up to
13 weeks.
* Journaling. You should keep two separate daily journals. One is
for recording everything you eat (and the stats of that consumed
food). The other is for your workouts. After doing this for some
time, this will then assist you in determining what worked for you
and what did not, so that you may then adapt as necessary.
* Studying. The science of health and fitness continues to advance.
Obtain fitness magazines and stay current with contemporary
progress and research. This can oftentimes provide valuable
tips for your own progress. It also helps maintain committed
focus to achieving your Fitness Goals.
* Be "clean". Avoid drugs, lung-poison, excessive alcohol. Steer
clear of steroids and any "quick-solution" diet pills or drugs.
The only way to lose or gain weight in a HEALTHY WAY is to do it
with natural eating, fitness, and supplements (as listed above).
